This restoration project at the First Baptist Church South in Portsmouth, VA, a 127-year-old church. The 80-foot bell tower had decaying mortar, which was causing interior damage to the ceiling and carpet.

Our work included tuckpointing the bell tower and repairing its flashing. Inside, we replaced and painted damaged drywall, and also replaced the carpet in the tower and on the stairs.

In November 2013, DH Construction and Improvements LLC had the opportunity to partner with HOY Construction and Portsmouth Redevelopment & Housing on the Parc Family Shelter project. This marked our first commercial project, where we served as subcontractors.

Our scope of work focused on Division 7 - Thermal and Moisture Protection. This included the installation of roofing shingles, fascia wrap, vinyl soffit, and siding.

This kitchen remodel was part of a comprehensive fire restoration project. The interior of the home was completely gutted due to fire damage, requiring all new drywall, insulation, flooring, and full renovations of both the kitchen and bathroom.

In addition to the interior work, we rebuilt the sunroom to bring it up to current building codes, as the original structure had several code violations. We also replaced the roofing across the entire home to ensure long-term durability and compliance.
