About DH Construction
DH Construction & Improvements LLC began its journey in 2008 as DH Home Improvements, initially providing handyman services specifically for the UPA Suffolk office. Daniel Harris, the owner, was a firefighter for the City of Hampton who, like many firefighters, worked in construction on his days off.
As his reputation for quality work and excellent customer service grew, the demand for more specialized services increased. To continue servicing our clients' growing needs, we transitioned from a sole proprietorship to an officially incorporated business, acquired our Class A contractor certification, and changed our name to DH Construction & Improvements LLC, all within four short years.

Over the past 15 years, we have collaborated with many reputable local companies, including United Properties Association, SL Nusbaum, Atlantic Community Management, Home Depot, and Lincoln Military Housing. We have also proudly serviced local municipalities such as Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Hampton, and Norfolk.
Today, UPA Suffolk remains our number one client. We continue to provide them with the same handyman services and, as a general contractor, have assisted them with significant community renovation and improvement projects over the years. In 2022, we partnered with the City of Norfolk for the Renovation Norfolk Program, quickly establishing ourselves as a premier general contractor firm within the program. We have proudly and successfully renovated over 20 homes in less than three years.
Our consistent commitment to quality work with these commercial clients has also been an invaluable resource for residential homeowners seeking a dependable general contractor to help bring their project visions to life or simply improve the functionality of their spaces.
Beyond providing construction services to the Hampton Roads area, DH Construction is a family-run business where family and friends have worked over the years.
